Are Now Clean

You are now clean, because of the word that I have spoken to you ~John 15:3

CHAPTER 15: VERSE 1

JESUS

I am the true vine, and my Father
is the vinedresser.

VERSE 2

JESUS

Every branch in me that bears not
fruit he takes away, and every one
that bears fruit, he cleanses, that
it may bear more fruit.

VERSE 3

JESUS

You are now clean, because of the
word that I have spoken to you:

VERSE 4

JESUS

…abide in me, and I in you. As
the branch cannot bear fruit of
itself, unless it abide in the
vine, so neither can you, unless
you abide in me.

VERSE 5

JESUS

I am the vine, you the branches. He
that abides in me and I in him, he
bears much fruit; for without me
you can do nothing.

VERSE 6

JESUS

If any one abide not in me, he is
cast out as the branch and withers,
and they gather it and throw it
into the fire, and it is burned.

VERSE 7

JESUS

If you abide in me and my words
abide in you, ask whatever you
will, and it shall be done for you.

VERSE 8

JESUS

In this is my Father glorified,
that you bear much fruit and become
my disciples.

VERSE 9

JESUS

As the Father has loved me, I also
have loved you: abide in my love.

VERSE 10

JESUS

If you keep my commandments, you
shall abide in my love, as I have
kept my Father’s commandments and
abide in his love.

VERSE 11

JESUS

These things I have spoken to you
that my joy may be in you and your
joy may be fulfilled.

VERSE 12

JESUS

My commandment is this, that you
love one another as I have loved
you.

VERSE 13

JESUS

Greater love has no one than this,
that he lay down his life for his
friends.

VERSE 14

JESUS

You are my friends, if you do what
things I command you.

VERSE 15

JESUS

I no longer call you servants,
because the servant knows not what
his lord does; but I have called
you friends, because An all things
that I have heard from my Father I
have made known to you.

VERSE 16

JESUS

You have not chosen me, but I have
chosen you, and appointed you that
you may go and bring forth fruit,
and that your fruit should remain,
that whatever you ask the Father in
my name he may give you.

VERSE 17

JESUS

These things I command you, that
you love one another.

VERSE 18

JESUS

If the world hates you, you know
that it has hated me first.

VERSE 19

JESUS

If you were of the world, the world
would love its own; but because you
are not of the world, but I have
chosen you out of the world,
therefore the world hates you.

VERSE 20

JESUS

Remember the word that I spoke to
you: The servant is not greater
than his lord. If they have
persecuted me, they will persecute
you also: if they have kept my
word, they will keep yours also.

VERSE 21

JESUS

But all these things will they do
to you on account of my name,
because they know not him that sent
me.

VERSE 22

JESUS

If I had not come and spoken to
them, they would not have had sin;
but now they have no excuse for
their sin.

VERSE 23

JESUS

He that hates me hates my Father
also.

VERSE 24

JESUS

If I had not done among them the
works that no other did, they would
have had no sin; but now they have
both seen and hated both me and my
Father.

VERSE 25

JESUS

But that the word might be
fulfilled which is written in their
law: They hated me without a cause.

VERSE 26

JESUS

When the Advocate has come, whom I
will send you from the Father, the
Spirit of truth that proceeds from
the Father, he shall testify of me;

VERSE 27

JESUS

…and you also shall testify,
because you have been with me from
the beginning.
