Lyrics
How is it everyone? John Landt here, thank you for joining me today. Welcome to Voice Cry, episode six. I like to share what God shares with me with you. Here we go. I’ll be reading from the Bible. It’s based on one of the oldest Bible manuscripts in the world. That manuscript is called the Codex Sinaiticus, and basically it’s really only going to be the four gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, but I hope to be developing a new Bible. And you might ask me why do I want to develop or come up with a new Bible? But I’m really interesting in bringing together various codexes into a one Bible translation, so this is a long-term project but I’ve been looking forward to it, but what I have right now is just the four gospels, and today we’ll be reading from Matthew, Mark, and Luke. Those are the main portions of the Bible we’ll be reading from, and I want to begin with a little bit from Matthew, chapter 24, and it begins like this, “And going out, Jesus was departing from the temple, and his disciples came to him to point out to him the buildings of the temple, and he answered and said to them, ‘See you not all these things? Verily I say to you, there shall not be left here a stone upon a stone that shall not be thrown down.’ And as he sat upon the Mount of Olives, his disciples came to him privately saying, ‘Tell us, what shall these things be and what sign of thy coming and of thy conclusion of the age?’”
And this is referring to the cornerstone. Remember we talked about the cornerstone on Voice Cry, episode five, and that was in Matthew chapter 21, which kind of leads up to this point here about this temple being destroyed, which is Jesus Christ is the cornerstone, but if you want to review, you can go back to Voice Cry episode five and listen to that. And what I want to talk to you about today is the cornerstone, which is Jesus, and what will be the sign. So let me continue in verse four. “And Jesus answered and said to them, ‘See that no one deceives you, for many shall come in my name saying, “I am the Christ,” and shall deceive many,’” and that refers to maybe probably, it’s likely, many different types of religions out there, that these are messiahs and these are going to help you, or it could be literally. It could be people proclaiming that they are actually Christ, God himself. So let me pick it up in verse six. “‘But you shall hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you be not troubled, for they must be, but not yet is the end, for nation shall rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom and there shall be famines and earthquakes in various places, but all these are the beginnings of pains. Then they shall deliver you up to affliction and shall kill you and you shall be hated by the nations because of my name. And then shall many be offended and deliver one another up and hate one another and many false prophets shall arise and deceive many. And because of iniquity shall be multiplied, the love of many shall grow cold.’” So we have love that’s going to grow cold, you have people that are going to kill you in the name of Jesus, and in verse 14, here’s when it’s about to come to the end but it’s not quite there, “‘And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a testimony to all nations, and then shall the end come.’” But that’s not the end. It will come, but what’s the sign?
Verse 15. “‘When therefore you see the abomination of desolation that was spoken of by Daniel the prophet standing in the holy place, let the reader understand. Then let those that are in Judea flee into the mountains. He that is on the housetop, let him not come down to take the goods out of his house, and he that is in the field, let him not turn back to take his garment. But alas, for them that are with child and them that give suck in those days and pray that your flight may not be in the winter nor on the Sabbath, for there shall be great affliction, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until now, nor shall ever be. And unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would be saved. But because of the elect, those days shall be shortened. So, God will shorten these days for his chosen ones.” Verse 23, “‘Then if anyone say to you, “Lo, here’s the Christ,” or, “There,” believe it not, for false Christs and false prophets shall arise and shall give great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even the elect. Behold, I have told you beforehand. If then they say to you, “Behold, he is in the desert,” go not forth. “Behold, he is in the secret chambers,” believe it not. For as the lightning comes from the east and shines even to the west, so shall the coming of the son of man be. Here’s the sign. Wherever the carcass is, there will be eagles come together. So here’s the sign. This is what you are to look for. But immediately after the affliction of those days, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give her light and the stars shall fall from the heavens and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken, and then shall appear the sign of the son of man in heaven, and all the tribes of the land will wail and shall see the son of man coming on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. It is like everything’s darkened, and the son of man is light, and everyone is going to see it. This is the sign. This is the Christ, coming out of heaven.’”
Verse 31, “‘And he shall send his angels with a great trumpet, and they shall gather his elect, his chosen ones, from the four winds, from the ends of the heavens and the ends of them. But from the fig tree, learn the parable. When its branch has now become tender and put forth leaves, you know that summer is near. So also you, when you see all these things, know that it is near at the doors. Verily I say to you, this generation shall not pass away until all these things take place. Heaven and Earth shall pass away, but my word shall not pass away. But of the day, the hour, no one knows, neither the angels of heaven nor the son, but the father.’” So it’s going to be like this. In verse 37, “‘But as the days of Noah, so shall the coming of the son of man be, for as they were in the days that were before the flood, eating and drinking, marrying, and giving in marriage, until the day in which Noah entered the ark and knew not until the flood came and took them all away, so also shall the coming of the son of man be.’” So this is really the main idea of the coming of Jesus Christ to judge the wicked. Verse 40, “‘Then shall two men be in the field. One shall be taken and one left. Two women shall be grinding at the mill. One shall be taken, and one left. Watch, therefore, for you know not in the day your lord comes, but know this, that if the master of the house had known at what watch the thief would come, he would have kept awake and not have permitted his house to be broken through. Wherefore, be you also ready, for at the hour at which you think not the son of man comes, who is then is the faithful and wise servant whom the lord has set over his household servants to give them food in season. Blessed is the servant whom the lord oncoming shall find so doing.
Verily I say to you that he will set him over all his goods, but if the wicked servant shall say in his heart, “My lord delays,” and shall begin to smite his fellow servants and shall eat and drink with the drunken, the lord of that servant shall come in the day when he looks not for and at the hour he knows not, and shall cut him asunder and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.’” So we have… two types of people. Those who are ready, and those who say that they are of the lords and they’re not ready. I wanted to go over to Mark 13:24-27, and this is another sign. This is when the end will come. This is another sign in Mark, as in Matthew. Mark 13, verse 24, “‘But in those days, after the affliction, the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers which are in heaven shall be shaken, and then shall they see the son of man coming on the clouds with great power and glory, and then shall he send the angels and gather the elect from the four winds, from the ends of the Earth to the ends of heaven.” And now we look at Luke 21 verse 17, which I kind of find interesting here. You have this verse saying, “‘You shall be hated by all because of me.’” Even though this is a type of sign, and there’s other types of signs, it’s not the sign. We have Luke 21 verse 24, “‘And they shall fall by the edge of the sword and shall be led away captive into all nations, and Jerusalem shall be trod down by gentiles until the times of the gentiles shall be fulfilled.’”
So God is calling out to gentile nations, but will return to Jerusalem. And in Luke 21:25 verse 25, “‘And there shall be signs in the sun and the moon and the stars and on Earth, the stress of nations in perplexity at the roaring of the seas and the waves.’” Jesus who comes is the sign, and this is what we look for. We have Matthew 24:29, we have Mark 13:24-25, and Luke 21:25, the sign. What is the sign of the coming of the end of the age? And it’s Jesus Christ, the messiah, who comes, is the sign. And this is all referenced to Isaiah 13:10. I’ll start in verse nine and I’ll go to verse 11, and I’ll be reading from The Net Bible. “Look, the lord’s day of judgment is coming. It is a day of cruelty and savage, raging anger destroying the earth and annihilating its sinners. Indeed, the stars in the skies and their constellations no longer give out their light, and the sun is darkened as soon as it rises, and the moon does not shine. I will punish this world for its evil and wicked people for their sin. I will put an end to the pride of the insolent. I will bring down the arrogance of tyrants.” So there you have it. You have many people out there, even today, that say that they are the Christ or the time is near, and as we’ve read, you do not follow them. The sign will be in Matthew 24:29, Mark 13:24-25, and Luke 21:25. So the sign will be the son of man in heaven will appear on the clouds of heaven with great power and glory.
Everything is darkened. The sun, the moon, the stars, because Jesus is the light. Yeshua, he is the sign. This is the sign to look for on his second coming. Everyone else who makes these claims to be the Christ or the messiah or have, or they think they have, or they say they have, a savior and some type of religion, this is not the way, nor is it the sign to follow, so be careful. So there you have it. I want to thank you for joining me today. If you’d like to tell us what God shares with you that you would like to share with others, I’d really love to hear about it. It’s really simple. All you have to do is go to www.GodTalk.me, and send me a message. I’ll see you later.
